Can someone help me with the math to see how much it would cost me if i got it as a free tool with the Driver/Impact (https://www.homedepot.ca/product/ryobi- ... OSTAL_CODE_) and returned the Drill Impact?

Maybe I am better off going non brushless though.
Refund value:
RYOBI 18V ONE+ HP Compact Brushless Hammer Drill and Impact Kit with (2) 1.5 Ah Batteries and Charger $152.34
Brushless Cordless Multi Tool $96.66

So 100$ for brushless vs 50$ for brushed. Not sure which I should go for. Will have to research a little.

Thanks

Told him, receipt for in store purchase clearly shows return value and it’s for this exact reason. He called himself a “returns specialist” and kept saying this is policy. Straight 🤡 gonna try again at another GTA store when I get time.
This is NOT the way to do it. You show up with no receipt, give them your credit card/ debit card, and tell them to look it up.

It is interesting to note that if you want to keep just the battery, the cheapest option is to buy the cheapest tools, not the most expensive one.

Not sure if asked, but can you do this for Ridgid :)

Not that they are bad, but most of these Canadian Ryobi deals are for brushed versions of the products, now that they are introducing whisper series and Hp+ etc models, seems Canadian consumers getting the last dump of the brushed products in the form of a deal.

I made this Google sheets. You may try input the tool price to calculate tool and battery's amount.

Did you have to take it to an authorized repair shop? I have yet to need to use the LSA myself but there used to be an authorized shop near me but now the nearest one is several hours away.

The 14.4v batteries are discontinued. If you call ridgid regarding a dead 14.4v battery, they will automatically replace everything with a 18v equivalent. No need to go to any service centre.

I was referring to the general process of getting a replacement tool or battery (current or discontinued).

I'm in the process of doing my first LSA repair and was told by Ridgid that I can either drop off at a location nearby or ship to any other location. They said they would cover return shipping (I didn't ask about shipping TO the repair centre, but if they cover return shipping I would assume they will cover both)

I did a battery replacement last year (15 year old battery). It was all done over the phone, they shipped out my 2 new batteries in under a week. Just told me to thorw away the old ones.

I'd like to get a sander to refurnish my kitchen cabinets. i'll likely go for Ryobi as i have their drivers. looking through the list looks like orbit sander isnt on the promotion list. can anyone please advise if other tools can work the same / be even more suitable to do the job? TIA!

Yes, I took it an authorized repair shop. Ridgid does have an express battery replacement service, but I haven't used it.

As others have said, I believe you can ship your tools to an authorized shop. That could potentially get pricey depending on what you are shipping.

My 18V finish nailer went in for service, and it's fairly heavy. I'm not sure what that would cost to ship via Canada Post. My tile wet saw is also covered by the LSA; hate to think how I'd ever ship that to a service depot.

Thank you!

i was looking at the Ryobi Orbital Jig Saw and now it costs $99! compared to the $85 in your list!

and i'd also like to get a Ryobi orbital sander (not an expensive tool though), anyone knows whether it even comes in these similar campaigns?
