Will this stuff kill the crab grass and quack grass that has taken over 2/3 of my lawn?

Yes, but it will also kill your surrounding grass. If you're planning on reseeding, then go for it. I plan on doing something similar to get rid of all the creeping charlie when the weather cools.

Roundup is pretty safe, short of chronic, high dose, long-term exposure, you don't have much to worry about.

Works well too.
I aim to be inclusive and considerate of others in my posts. If I fall short of that mark, feel free to let me know in good faith, and where appropriate, I'll edit my posts. Thank you.

Except that it's banned in 20+ countries because it's linked to lymphoma (cancer) and is full of neonicotinoids which decimate local bee/pollinator populations. I had 3 of 4 bee hives die in a week a few years ago because a neighbour sprayed his yard. The only reason it's still legal in Canada is because the lobbyists for the canola and wheat farmers have a lot of pull with the gov't and they think using it is the only way to turn a profit.

Yeah, the human health risks are exaggerated, they're real but minimal.

The risk to bee populations are real and non-trivial though, I agree.

It's saddened to read about your bee hives.

Just embrace the crab. It's thicker and more resilient. Just think of it as St. Augustine grass, which is common for Florida.

Beacause of the links to cancer etc. it is illegal to use for cosmetic purposes (e.g. to create a weed-free lawn) in Ontario. You can use it for poison ivy.
