[Home Depot] RYOBI 18V ONE+ Battery 6-Port Super Charger $48.98

First time poster here.

The RYOBI 18V ONE+ Battery 6-Port Super Charger on clearance for $48.98 at Leaside HD in GTA. Maybe on similar clearance at other stores. I picked one up myself and there were 3 left.

Great charger. I know there is the newer model that charges a bit faster but this is good enough and the price is great.

Anyone else able to verify if it's location specific? I checked stocktrack and it shows $98 and the Home Depot website price is blank.

Saw the same price today at Markham #7004, didn’t purchase as I don’t use the batteries enough to justify

For people new to this charger, it charges 1 at a time.

It's more for storage than for using them all at the same time. It can only charge one at a time anyway. I don't have a crazy amount of tools but I have 4 Ryobi One + batteries and they have come in handy multiple times. My wet/dry vac and oribital sander go through batteries in like two minutes.

You really shouldn't leave them on the charger 24/7. I have seen videos of them catching fire while being left on. Not judging, I'm bad for it too.

I see people questioning the value of this charger.
I think that the great part is that it sequential charges up to 6 batteries.
Say for example you are hard at work building a new back deck with your Ryobi tools, you decide to call it a day but now you need to charge up your supply of batteries. Lets say for this example you own three batteries that are all dis-charged and that you need them all for the next day.
With a single charger (the one you got with the tool) you have to keep checking on the charger to see if it's done before swapping out the charged one for the next dead battery times 2 times. We all know how that works, your plug in the 1st one then get sidetracked and forget all about the other batteries. In the morning you have one fully charged battery and two dead ones.
With this charger you just put them all on the charger and forget about it and in the morning they're all charged up ready to go.
As already said in this thread it's not a good idea to leave the batteries in the charger full time for storage. These days Li Ion batteries loose so little charge month to month that there's no need to leave them in.
For $50 bucks I think this charger is a good deal for anyone who owns more than 2 batteries in their system.

I think this is false. It doesn't charge anything 24/7. It checks the status, charges until full and then moves on.

Things have been known to fail. Anything that draws electricity has a risk of fire, no matter how small. I'm not suggesting fires are bursting out all over Canada because of this but why chance it.

Do you unplug your TV and microwave when you're not using them?

By this logic you need to have a system where you physically disconnect every electronic device in the house when not in use. It might be a bit unnecessary since the risk is negligible. A TV can also catch fire. But it typically doesn't so we typically just leave it plugged in.

Does the instruction manual of the TV state to unplug it?

The manual for this (and other) lithium battery chargers state to remove the battery when it's completed charging.

Amazing price for a charger.

Problem I have it's no on clearance near me.

And I need at least 3 more batteries to make this worth it's space in my shop.

Time to look for more combo tools
