For light home work it's fine, but for bigger screws I found the torque of drills could be insufficient and impact driver would be more useful if you use long screws a lot.

House work can be done by just about any modern drill. I use the Dewalt 12V drill/driver combo (https://www.lowes.ca/product/power-tool ... ve-1323366) and have never been unhappy with its performance except when I really needed a hammer drill (drilling into brick). But it's lighter and smaller than 18V solutions.

Screws can certainly be done with a drill, but are better with an impact driver.
