[Home Depot] RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium-Ion Cordless Electric String Trimmer / Edger (Tool Only) - $38.40 YMMV

Picked up today at Home Depot St-Constant the Ryobi 13" string trimmer/edger. It's on clearance for $38.40. Normal price of this is $98.00 - very early in the season, but at this price I figured I'd get one.

Stocktrack: https://stocktrack.ca/?s=hd&sku=1001024612 (but price + quantity don't seem to match for St. Constant)

Home Depot website shows the price as $98 still at my store in Victoria. Are prices not consistent nationwide?

From another thread about Home Depot and clearance items, if the item is in stock at your store, add it to cart, select your store for pickup, process order. Total on check out will be the website marked price. Once you receive your confirmation email, check the price in there, if it's discounted, win. If not, cancel order.

Or head down to your local Home Depot and see if it's on clearance in person.

That's what I make of it.

Clearance prices are not the same nationwide, some stores will have it on clearance and others will not.

The most frustrating part however is that you will rarely see the clearance prices online. They are almost never displayed, which is why the OP even said that when checking their own store the price didn't show up.

Very good price.
Would have picked this if I didn’t have to buy 40V set of trimmer, blower

If there is a 18V trimmer working fine, why do we need 40V trimmer?

Depends on need . U can't compare run time of a 40v with this .

LOL same, already have a 40V trimmer/blower combo.

Well the 18V is def. not as powerful, so there's that. Whether you "need" the 40V or not depends on things like what you're trying to trim with it, how large your yard is, etc. IMO most of the ONE+ ones aren't powerful enough so you're better off with the 40V model. I'm not sure if the brushless HP ONE+ trimmer is even as good as a basic 40V model...

Worked for me, online, in Vancouver. I bought at full price online with Pick Up In Store. I got the email receipt at the $38.40 price.

Which confirmation? the initial order received or the one saying it's ready for pickup?
