[Home Depot] Stanley 48” top read aluminum I beam level $9.98 24” 7.98

Was looking for a 48”+ level and happened upon this, maybe for upcoming sale or something, my store Waterloo doesn’t show aisle info so it may be on an end or holding back, can always order for pickup

https://www.homedepot.ca/product/stanle ... 1001570492

Anyway seems like a good price considering most 48” start at $30

Added: 24” level is $7.98:

Thanks @Hans_Moleman for pointing out the 24” one is on sale too

No ruler and reviews say that it's painted yellow and that the paint comes off on the walls.

If you're having problems checking out, I've had better luck using the app.

It's possibly because it may not be on the floor yet and the person couldn't find it or didn't try hard enough. The problem I had during the previous sale was that these were in those Stanley promotional boxes randomly scattered in the store so it was very difficult to find because it's not assigned an aisle. I visited a different HD and they at least had the common sense to have all these Stanley boxes in the same area by the power tool brand section.

I bought one during the last sale and fwiw I have not noticed the paint coming off. (Didn't use on drywall though, just some shelving and vinyl plank flooring)

bought one last night, it is not quite as wide as my other box levels, and seems a bit flimsy compared to the others, but for $10 why not!

Agreed, based on the pics I assumed one of those four sided solid levels, but just got mine too. It’s actually hollow with the metal in the middle. Anyway for the price can’t go wrong

Dropped on out to the Scarborough store and you will find the levels not at the front kiosks, but rather all the Stanley stuff are in kiosk/boxes half way back in the store.

The Stanley 24 & 48 inch are very flimsy, I would call them a disposable product. After seeing the level torque under the lightest of pressure in my hands it wasn't a good fit for this DIY'er. A plastic one would be more rigid, so I was disappointed as this is aluminum however very thin walled no strength reinforcements.

I already have the Dewalt 48 inch in my garage but was wanting a 24 inch to add to the mix....I ended up picking up the Dewalt 24 inch as it will last for decades of my use. Seeing I was already here and had a gift card in hand, figured might as well pick the Dewalt up.

So for very light duty work give the Stanley a try, but for a DIYer who does a reasonable amount of work I would go onto another choice.
