Seems like the V shape would limit this to a single row of plants though.

By planting on the short axis you can achieve a very dense growth. Look at square foot gardening, to see how much you can jam into a small space. Carrots in a 2” grid, beets in a 3”........ depth is not really a factor unless to want to grow potatoes.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten....

From my viewpoint Costco deals on raised beds are much better than this.

I bought 2 and both had the V-shape panels splintered. That was annoying given I had to built the base already. The packaging didn't look like it was abused so might just be my luck. Check all pieces before installing!

You can get a lot into this planter. I have been using it for a few years now. Just a bit of planning and you can have quite the yield. Middle you can plant carrots. The other spaces can be used to grow a variety of veggies. I've grown some Asian veggies like Bok Choi, Gai LAN (Chinese broccoli), various types of lettuce, dill, cucumbers, beans, peas. Just be aware of the height and growing times of the veggies and it'll work out really well.

My only gripe about the planter is the wood. Not the best of quality but at least if it does rot out, there is a bit of a template you can use to fix it up quickly. Some pieces are starting to deteriorate but not enough for me to replace just yet.

I assume you’re referring to this Vegtrug at Costco listed for $245.

The Costco version is a 1.2m long, and comes with the self watering liner, and greenhouse cover. It is an oddball size (1.2m) made specifically for Costco, and there are no accessories available in this size. Accessories such as replacement liners, winter covers, which one would presumably need through the garden beds lifetime.

Whereas this deal at Home Depot, is the full medium size, 1.8m long, and is a standard size made by vegtrug, and therefore accessories are widely available.

By going with this Home Depot deal you lose the self watering system and the greenhouse, (as you would have got with Costco,) in exchange for more length and capacity for 45 dollars cheaper, with more support for accessories as your garden progresses, with this 1.8m universal model.

I don’t care for the greenhouse or watering system, and want more room instead, so this 1.8 version is a better fit, at a lower price point for my needs.

Actually I was meaning the 2 4x4 raised beds Costco sells or the keyhole gardens (only 1 is available now). I think these kind of Vegtrug beds are over priced.

Again you keep posting cheap vinyl gardens that are simply 4 walls sitting on top of the ground. This is a vastly inferior product compared to a full cedar vegtrug.

A “true cheapskate” would drive a 2003 beige Corolla everywhere, and while it’s certainly cheaper, that doesn’t mean that the Mercedes at 30% off retail isn’t a deal for those that prefer a premium experience.

Hmmmm... ok, so im new to all of this. This is up off the ground allows for different depths. The one ppl are talking about with the watering system, is it for greenhouses?

I posted about it last week, but YMMV, HD Langley has had these on sale for the past while at $150 in grey. I just verified and there's still a good stack there. Pick them up before I decide I want them. Lol. One could possible PM it, but theres a sign there that literally says "this store only".
