[Home Depot] Wagner Control Pro 130 Airless Paint Sprayer $252 (with price beat)

Home Hardware has the great DIY Wagner Control Pro 130 Power Tank Airless Stand Paint Sprayer for $280, bringing it to $252 at Home Depot with their price beat. Might be YMMV if your local HH doesn’t have it in stock, but one near me did.

Great find, have been looking for one all winter. I don’t see it in the home hardware flyer for 2 major metro areas (Vancouver & Toronto). Was the home hardware price in store only?

If so, how did you do the PM with HD? TIA

How hard would it be for someone to learn how to paint using this?

HH shows $279.99 for me, and HD $275... Anyway, good find for those who can take advantage of this

I'm a newb too so I'm curious as well and how does it compare to a handheld sprayer? I have no clue but I'm assuming the hardest part is the cleaning process and perhaps understanding how to add/mix the paint?

I recently started using a Graco Magnum X5, which is similar to the next size up from this unit.

If you're used to a handheld, this would be a good step up for larger but not huge projects. Moving the paint out of the spray gun and into a separate container reduces the weight you have to hold and allows for more power, greatly improving the user experience, at the expense of having to manage a somewhat rigid hose instead of a cord. Cleanup is a couple more steps, but not crazy if you're already accustomed to it. As for the paint, these usually take it without thinning, you just dump it in or drop the suction tube in, depending on the model.

The biggest thing with spraying is recognizing that prep is critical, and can take a long time. It's not a magical way to save time on painting, it just yields better results in some circumstances. If you already have a sprayer, that's not new to you either.
