Went to HomeDepot (Montreal) to pick up recessed lighting and came out with a new BBQ!

I've been looking for deals on a Weber for the upcoming BBQ season but being Quebec, I couldn't benefit from the recent Lowes deal on the Genesis. I know the spirit is one step down but I hope it will do better than the Walmart Char Broil I have right now... They have a few models from last year (like e-210 or smaller ones) and a few floor models that had dings/scratches but I didn't have any luck negotiating a significant additional discount (YMMV)

This is made in China low quality stuff, why not spend bit more and get real Genesis model?
Why don't you try this spirit series side by side against real Genesis model I guaranty you will feel the difference.

Just picked up a Genesis e320 today for $549 at Home Depot in Oakville. Like you, I was not looking for a BBQ either, but bit due to the price on a new BBQ for the cottage. Cannot believe the price increase on the new models. $1600 for the equivalent 2017 model with a couple more bells/whistles, but seemingly lesser build quality. Figured I got a relatively good deal on a BBQ that will last me a while where it only sees occasional summer use.

Because the Genesis they had was not just bit more (900$ actually) and also made in China...

The old Genesis S-330 is made in the US (North America) not China

The spirit series is so flimsy and deliquet, compared to Real Genesis series which you can feel is Sturdy and strong.

Ok you guys made me feel bad about my purchase and I went to another HD to see if I could find an old Genesis (made in USA). Luckily I found one (Genesis S-330 floor model) that I managed to negotiate from $977$ to 800$. Not bad considering the newer Genesis are over 1200$ and made in china but I know it's not the best deal seen on RFD for this model but again, no Lowes to PM in Quebec!

I'll be returning the chinese Spirit ...

I'm also curious how you got it for $549. My local store is selling it for $779, original price $849. I asked for a discount and the best she could give me was $729. Don't know if this is still a good deal for the Genesis E-320.
