One difference is that the Home Depot DW tub interior is plastic vs. stainless steel. Stainless steel is easier to clean, doesn't stain and just looks nicer. Quality wise (motor, etc) they are about the same. Should last you at least 5-8 years with basic maintenance,

I just bought a dishwasher on Tuesday. I can tell you that a lot of these Whirlpools have handles that - when pulled - actively flex the entire logic board/door panel. Over time, these cause failures.

I bought the Bosch that was on sale at Lowes for $550 off. Happy with it so far.
