[Home Hardware] PHILIPS LED 100-Watt (1500 lumens)/A19 Daylight (5000K & )/CRI 90 Bulb, 2-Pack - $7.97 ($3.99 / count) - ATL

UPDATE: I have resurrected this deal, its no longer at Amazon (OOS) but the same price is available at Home Hardware

Item 1: 100W LED bulb that's 5000K [462010]
  • It's made by PHILIPS
  • Has Color rendering index (CRI) = 90
  • Non-dimmable
I like 5000k (white/bright) lights, this seems like a deal if you are looking for these specs.

Price: $7.97/PK was $13.49
Amazon's history from the older deal:
  • $7.97
  • ($3.99 / count)
  • Its at ATL according to CCC
  • Previous low was in 2018 and it's not been close since. e.g. this year its been about $11.

Item 2: PHILIPS 14W A19 Medium Base Soft White (2700K) LED Light Bulbs - 2 Pack [461979]
$7.97/PK was $13.49
https://www.homehardware.ca/en/2-pack-1 ... /p/3652984

Note CRI appears to be 80, not bad, but not 90.
Not the deal but the info link: https://www.amazon.ca/Philips-461979-10 ... B01GFOR34U

They might replace a 100-Watts bulb but they actually consume only 15 Watts.

5000k is laboratory light kind of brightness. You will feel like a rat being dissected.

I prefer warm light.

A matter of taste I guess.

Kitchen, home office...
The brightness (both from 5000k and 1500 lumens) gives you a bit of energy, at least my perspective.

6 years! You got lucky :)

I have some Ikea bulbs dying on my in 1-2 years... This is why I'm spending marginally more and starting to buy Phillips and stuff of that grade.
No idea, but the usual part that fails are the electronics on the bulb.

Don't get me wrong, everyone can get a dud. I had to once swap a Phillips as well.

Every single room... My approach, somewhat flawed is if I want "warm" light I use lamps/etc in the room. But if I want to see, the overhead lights get the 100w 5k lights.

I don't think its flawed. That's a great idea.
It makes a difference being in a bright room vs a darker room, at least most of the time.

FWIW, there are (more expensive, lower CRI options) for people who want to switch colour temperatures via remote.

I love 5000k for garage, home office and kitchen, but I would agree with you on preferring warm light for sleeping area n living room area

Thanks for the heads up, that was quick! Looks like 16 of us on RFD finished their stock :D (counting my upvotes, lol).

I will try to expire the deal, I don't post threads often but I assume its easy.

Being dimmable is so important to me nowadays, especially when combined with smart light switches.
