Home Internet 2019 BF deals

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SHAW is listing a "black friday" deal for
  • internet 50/5/450gb/modem $45/mo for 12mo, $65/mo for next 12 mo, $85/mo after.
  • internet 300/15/unlimited/modem $45/mo for 12mo, $75/mo for next 12 mo, $105/mo after.
  • internet 300/15/unlimited/bluecurve $65/mo for 12mo, $90/mo for next 12 mo, $115/mo after.
  • internet 600/20/unlimited/bluecurve $65/mo for 12mo, $100/mo for next 12 mo, $115/mo after.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Telus, I see no listed deals. There is a link to get mailed, but it ended up being less than stellar. Update us if you get a different offer. The only response to that was
  • internet 75/15, Optic TV 4 pk, $350 credit, $105/mo for 2 years, $160/mo after

I'm an existing Telus internet customer who booked on Black Friday a year or 2 ago, and currently have discounts about to expire.

Current:
Internet 300, unlimited data, modem
-$15 discount expires Jan, 2021
-$43 discount expires Dec, 2019
-$20 discount expires Dec, 2019
TTL : $47/mo + tax (+$5 being added next month I believe dues to price hikes)

Some terrible prices. I'm with Shaw and am paying $45 for the 300Mbps plan for 2 years.

If I'm paying $78 (after tax) for 600 down with Shaw with 1 year to go, are there any options for me to save some money? I don't think my plan is changing in terms of price. I got this on the last bf.

50M for $45?
Yeah, it might not be good rates, but I'm trying to present everything they are offering for this.
Personally I prefer Telus, simply for the 1ms ping and 20x upload speed, but I'm willing to change it up if the deals arise.

I would say $55/m ... because it should be calculated for 24 month.
I would show the prices differently.
ex.
internet 50/5/450gb/modem $45/mo for 12mo, $65/mo for next 12 mo, $85/mo after. .......so $55/mo for 2y ..... then $85/m after that.

Hopefully Telus comes out with something, my contract with Shaw is expiring and they're not budging from $90/month which I'm obviously not going to be paying.

Are these strictly deals for internet service? TV channels (and maybe PVR or non-PVR STB) would be additional cost?

I’m on Telus VDSL with Optik TV channels and Telus recently emailed me saying they will be shutting down VDSL and offering me a very bad deal on fibre, like 25 mbit download and basic Optik TV channels for about $110. So it could be time to switch to Shaw.

Nothing to contribute to the deal, but that username and pic...like a nostalgia slap in the face! I'm old AF lol, but I'm gonna catch up on all those books, thanks for the reminder they existed!

Keep building that list of deals.

My in-laws pay about $225 for internet and tv a month.
I almost choked on my dinner when I saw their bill.
