Home Security - Any Use for older landline Alarmforce System?

Hi, my Mother's landline phone bill was close to $100/month so I switched her to VOIP.

Now her old landline Alarmforce security system doesn't work. I called them (now Bell) and they said the system will not work without a landline and tried to sell me a cellular package.

I am wondering if they are telling the truth in that this system is now completely useless? Or is there any way to just use it locally (alarm sounds when sensor is triggered but no monitoring)? Is there a voip adapter I can buy to make it work.

If not I guess I will just buy her Ring unless anyone can suggest a better alternative.

Any information or direction would be appreciated.

You can usually self monitor them by adding a wifi module. Google it.
If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
