All manufacturers make mistakes... how they handle that with customers is what creates loyalty.
Honda and to lesser extent Toyota were great on that and thus they earned great reputations for many years even when current actual facts are to the contrary.
Should they continue then their reputation will sink for many years even if they change back to the good old days. Just how consumerism works.
2022: BOC raised 8 times and MCAP raised its prime next day.
2017 to 2018: BOC raised rates 5 times and MCAP raised its prime next day each time.
2020: BOC dropped rates 3 times and MCAP waited to drop its prime to include all 3 drops.
