[Hong Tai Supermarket] Not for the squemish...Fresh Beef Tongue $2.99/lb

I know this will likely turn into a "Eww. Who eat's that" to a "great deal/price" thread.

For those who Sous Vide....

My word, this was the most tender, juicy, melt-in-your-mouth meat I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Take the best pot roast you’ve ever had, multiply the tenderness and meaty, rich flavor by ten or so, and you would be close to how good this stuff was.

Beef Tongue tacos ppl!!!! cut it into cubes, put a sear on them and be prepared for the accolades.

If I was served this without knowing what it was I was eating I would probably say it was really good. However, knowing what it is prior, I doubt I could do it.

My parents served this all the time when I was a kid. They didn't even attempt to disguise it by cutting it up either. There would literally be a huge cow tongue on your plate with the rough skin still on it. The worst is when your older brother would stick it in his mouth and lick you with it. I'm scarred to this day.

I recall my mum boiling it with Pickled pork cabbage roll at the same time. Potatoes, cabbage, carrots. Delicious. This will be my first time Sous Viding it.

Is serving this on a large piece of lettuce recommended?
