[Canadian Tire] HOT! Canadian Tire - Quaker State Synthetic Oil 5L Jug for $30.59 - $10 Rebate

Canadian Tire has a deal for their Synthetic oil again: 5L jug for $30.59 - $10 Rebate from Quaker State. This is a better deal then the $29.99 - $7 Deal that was posted last time.

For those who are fastidious about their oil needs, the oil information can be found here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... lQ&cad=rja

Canadian Tire Links:

0W20 Listing: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/autom ... jOtaCs2t-J

5W20 or 5W30 Listing: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/quake ... jOtkis2t-K

Rebate Links:

All Quaker State rebates can be found here: http://www.quakerstate.com/CA/promotions. Click on the first offer that says "Purchase qualifying Quaker State® Ultimate Durability motor oil and save $10 or even more with a mail-in rebate. Offer ends December 31, 2015". Please note that the rebate can be submitted via Internet. You just need a scan of the receipt and no UPC label is required.

Some observations about the rebate which indicates why it is for Canadians and not the US:

- The drop down is showing US retailers (its an error), but at the top of the page, there is a Click here to find participating locations link which shows Canadian Tire, Walmart and others based on what is in your area.

- Notice the form says Province and not State.

- The info at the top of the page also says English and French.

- The terms and conditions link also mention Shell Canada.

Personal Experience with Quaker State Rebates:

Quaker State rebates have been sloppy in the past and I got denied for submitting 2 rebates as my invoice had both jugs on the same bill. I got a post card from Quaker State saying duplicate submission and a contact number. A quick call fixed that and I did get my $7 rebates each for the last promotion that was on. This time, I created separate receipts for each jug (transaction numbers on the invoice will be different) purchased and submitted separate claims so that they won't be rejected. I hope this works more smoothly now.

This works out to about $24.57 after rebate for 5 litres which is not bad for brand name oil. For those who are fastidious about their oil needs, the oil information can be found here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... lQ&cad=rja

The rebate Link is: http://www.fallmir2015q.com/index.cfm. and the rebate can be submitted via Internet. You just need a scan of the receipt and no UPC label is required.

Just keep in mind that you should create separate receipts for each jug purchased and submit separate claims so that they won't be rejected.
22.11 in the end in Alberta, thanks OP. Have been using this on my CX-5 and I'm getting better mileage then when I did oil changes at the dealer I assume because this is a full synthetic...

Does the type of oil used determine the car mileage?

My personal take on synthetics is that if the car uses it from new (0w20 is synthetic) then any brand of synthetic is fine. If you use regular oil instead of synthetic when new and switch now, you may notice some oil leaks. Synthetic oil has more additives that prevent oil seals from shrinking and getting hard. Regular oil may cause the seals to get hard and shrink and switching may cause oil leaks. Synthetic has benefits but you might want to be mindful of this.

Please review my initial post as I added some points about the rebate:

I think they fixed the rebate form, now asks for State and Zip Code on the form, also language selection is now English or Espanol. Says Quarts of oil
When I click on the link for participating locations, I get an error that says "Country selection does not match city and state" No Results Found
Terms and Conditions page shows "Offer valid only in U.S.A."

EDIT: OK that's weird, if I use the direct link for the rebate: http://www.fallmir2015q.com/index.cfm I end up on the American site.
If I use the link to all the rebates: http://www.quakerstate.com/CA/promotions and then select the $10 rebate, it appears to be the Canadian site (Province and Postal Code, Litres of oil etc) but the address is exactly the same as the USA site http://www.fallmir2015q.com/index.cfm

to a point yes, a full synthetic is better then a blend... but only use the weighting that your car asks for IE. 0w20 in my cx-5

regardless of what link I click, I get the American version. :-(....im confused.

what am I supposed to do after I click on participating retailers? it just tells me where they're located.

clicking on the participating retailers just gives me this site: http://www.bullseyelocations.com/pages/ ... -CA-EN?m=1

do we just select "other" for the retailer?
