HOT! Rogers/Fido Quebec Only $50 (Students $45) Unlimited Calling & 1GB of data

http://www.rogers.com/web/Rogers.portal ... WLRS_Plans
http://www.fido.ca/web/page/portal/Fido ... ans/Group2

Rogers apparently changed the plan from Canada-Wide to local making the Roger deal less hot, however Fido now has the same plan with Canada-Wide calling included for people who want the long distance.

Unlimited Talk (Local with Rogers, Canada-Wide on Fido)
Unlimited Messaging
Call Display & Voice Mail
1GB of Data
for $50

It's a Smart Picks plan so it should qualify for the $5 students discount bringing it down to $45. It's a Smart Plan over at Fido if you want it over there but no Student discount promotion. You can definitely get it with the 10% bring your own phone discount from either them. Sadly the BYOP and $5 student discounts can't be stacked since the Student discount requires a 2 year term. So you get your pick of $5 off a 2 year with Student ID or $5 off by bringing your own phone.

If 1GB isn't enough it'll start getting expensive at $15/GB

The best data plan ever was last year on Koodo $60 for 6gb with all bells and whistles + BYOP10%off. Don't even know if we'll see it ever again.

It's ridiculous how Candian plans are measured in MB, 25mb, 250mb, 500mb, etc. It should be more like 1gb, 3gb, 6gb.

I go through 100mb a day just from browsing and email, not even touching radio or youtube.

Well if anyone in Quebec wants lots of data, Videotron has 6GB and Unlimited Local Calling for $60, not a bad deal.

I'd say the best plan was Bell's Thunder Bay $50 plan.

That was proof that African stuff isn't as cheap as it is made out to be.

I went to India and Pakistan . 500MB data for a week on prepaid line was only $.30 ( only thirty cents in our currency ) Canada is very expensive in telecom but it's not a good idea to compare with African or Asian rates
