How can I quickly get the most money for my old 1995 Honda Civic?

I want to get rid of my car quickly without wanting to find a buyer. I called a company and they are offering me only $100. How can I get more money for my car, short of posting on craigslist/kijiji and waiting for a buyer?

Call your local scrapyard and ask them how much they will give you to drive it down there yourself.

Make sure you have a copy of the ownership.

Thanks, Syne.

I called Pick-A-Part in Chilliwack/Abbotsford (the one with the pink car). They explained there's 2 sorts of lots:
1) The lot which weighs your car and pays you by weight. They then crush your car, since they value it for its scrap metal only.
2) The lot which pays you based on the condition of your car. This sort of lot sells individual parts.

Pick-A-Part is type 2. Type 2 pays more money. What do you call these places?

And are there other Type-2 Places closer to Vancouver City?
