How to clean hardwood floors?

Bona is what youre looking for. Blue top jug.


1. Vacuum
2. Wipe with dry mop to remove excess dust
3. Spray Bona, let it work for 3-5mins
4. Wipe with a clean mop head

I would not use APC. There are cleaners that are specifically formulated for cleaning wood floors, Method is one of them.

Always use the right tool / chemical / fluid for the right task.
Do you use All-Purpose Cleaner as shampoo?

I've never heard of Method before. Can I buy this at RCSS?

So how do I use it and how much should I use? Do you have any recommendations for a mop that won't damage the hardwood floor? I'm assuming Method will kill bacterias and viruses?

I just use a microfiber floor mop like this:

We use several kinds of Swiffers in our house on various types of floors … including on our hardwood
The regular type works great for floor sweeping / dusting

While the wet mop (squirter) version has a cleaner you can buy specifically for hardwood

Floors get swiffered with the sweeper / duster once every 2 or 3 days … great for dust bunnies
And swiffered with the wet squirter one once a week or so.

Unless it specifically says it kills bacteria and viruses, you should assume it doesn't.

A clean hardwood floor isn't a good media for bacteria and viruses to live on.
