How to fix Headlight lens scratch

I have a slight scratch on the headlight of my vehicle. The cost to replace the headlight would be over $6K. I need to know if there is a way to fix this without having to replace the whole headlight assembly before end of lease in next couple of months

wow. $6K for ONE headlight replacement ? are you sure that's the cost? Even the latest matrix type of LED headlights are around $3000 each.

I suggest you to take to a professional detailer and see if that can be fixed

How bad is the scratch and how did it happen?
Some pics would help.

Some DIY repair kits can do that. Also some places, like car windows replacement specialists.
Pourquoi pas?

I'd probably just scratch the other one to match... Astonished Face

OP, try a detailer to see if they can get buff that scratch out.

Need some pics, has to be one heck of a sexy headlight for that kind of cash.

Manufacturers have to be laughing all night long as anyone in a collision has the result of winning the cash lottery for the company. Have to make note to ask that question prior to buying any car, never want to get into that situation.

Have you been to Canadian Tire or PartSource where they have a full idle full of detailing products? Time to get your hands a little dirty...

Try Meguiar PlastiX, found at CT. It is like 3M's ScratchX, but for clear plastic like found on most headlight lenses. Not sure if your 6k headlight unit is glass or plastic, but it couldn't hurt to try.

+1

If the scratch is too deep, try Mothers Mag Aluminum Polish a few times, and then PlastiX over and over.
