@mastero

Take a photo of the inside of the cabinet, with the drawers removed. In order to help one would have to see the transfer bar set-up that is activated by turning the key.

That bar with the pin on it that the arrow in your pic points at should move up and down when you turn the key. Does it?

Has it ever worked? The pin is maybe missing the angle plate on the drawer. You can possibly screw it outwards a bit but it would seem odd that they all need the same adjustment.

Looks like it but hard to tell from the pictures. The piece that the key moves up and down should get caught by the angle plate when engaged or slide in/out freely when unlocked. My guess from the picture is that the angle plate is probably mounted too high so it never gets blocked when the key is engaged.

I think if you remove the angle plate and mount it lower then it should catch. Measure the distance from the rail glide to where the bar is at max height when the key is engaged to the locked position. Then transfer that measurement to the drawer and make a mark. Then remount the angle plate so that at least 3/4 of it would get caught when the key engages the bar. Don’t mount it too low or it might not clear the locking bar when unlocked.

Does that make sense?

There are three drawers each with their own angle plates , so which one to start with and then there are 3 on the other side of the table , how can they put all wrong ..?

Start with measuring to confirm where the angle plate should be vs the measurements of where it actually is mounted. This would confirm if it’s the actual issue or not but eyeballing the pictures that’s my best guess.

If it is confirmed that it’s the issue, it’s possible that they spaced them wrong by using the wrong reference point. Just some random numbers but maybe they’re supposed to be placed every 3” measured from the bottom up but they installed every 3” from the top down? Or maybe they just eyeballed it!

Oh, maybe the angle plates need to be at different heights on each of the drawers? It may just be a matter of swapping them around and may explain why they all appear wrong.

Thank you for the new photo. A lot of good suggestions in this thread, here are a couple of comments:

1 - Do not worry that the "catch plate" is on both sides of the drawer. Drawers may be mass produced and the machinery puts the plates on both sides not knowing if the drawer is going into a right side pedestal or left.

2 - Before moving the "catch plate" inspect the locking mechanism and transfer bar closely. Remove the four screws, lift the cover plate and see exactly how the bar is being moved. Most likely there is some form of "ratcheting mechanism" on the bar and the bar itself can be lifted and moved up or down to accommodate the "Catch Plate".
