How to get the CIBC Investor's Edge $100 fee waived?
Hi,
I have a CIBC Investor's Edge account. My friend helped me set up the account and he did not tell me about the $100 annual fee even though I had asked him. Yes, I messed up and should've done my research.
Now, I got a notification from CIBC advising me that I need to have at least $100 in my account for the annual fee charge.
I read that if I keep $10,000 in my account, the fee will be waived. So am I able to have $10,000 for a few days during the week the annual fee is charged and avoid this fee? Or does the money have to be in the account for a certain period of time.
Can I close my account and thus avoid this annual fee? Will I be charged any other fees for closing my account and transfering my money out?
How can I get this $100 annual fee charge waived?
Thank you.
