How long can i use my phone service after cancelling ?

Long story short, I switched to freedom and got an iphone 12 with them and the FIDO winback team called me and I accepted their offer.
So I went back to freedom to cancel and return my iphone 12 with them. So now I've been waiting 2 weeks for my new phone to ship from Fido my question is how long can i keep using freedoms services for ? because i haven't ported out my number back to fido because I'm waiting for the sim which comes with my new device.

I think the freedom mobile service rep told me as long as I don't use more than half of the data I will be fine and wont have to pay charges. What happens if I'm not able to port out before my freedom bill is due ?

Another question is Am i still on contract with freedom or I'm just paying for whatever services I use until i port out my number back to fido.

Wrong thread.

Most of the time when you actually do cancel your service should be suspended immediately or very soon afterwards. You get prorated for the amount of time you have sued.

The fact that it’s been two weeks and you still have access to Freedom tells me something different.

I could be wrong.

This is posted in the wrong section, so you're going to get smart ass responses.

Keep your Freedom service until your new phone comes in, then port back over to Fido.

The representative was likely mistaken, the amount of data you use in only in relation to the phone. You gave the phone back already.

Freedom will charge you pro-rated. So if you had the account open for 17 of 31 days, you'd be charged for those 17 days only. As I said, keep the account open until you're ported back to Fido. At that moment, Freedom is automatically cancelled.
Why can't we all just get along?

This is confusing.

You switched to Freedom and got an iPhone 12
The win back team calls you back? Are you talking about Fido?
You go back to Freedom to cancel and return your iPhone. Shouldn’t you lose your line? The number should be gone too.

Okay, you didn’t return the phone and the line is not cancelled.

Too confusing

So even if it takes longer than 31 days my contract is still cancelled with freedom and I'd only be paying for whatever services I use with them until I port back to fido correct ?

If you switched to Freedom from another carrier, cancelled your contract with Freedom and returned the phone, you won't be able to port the number from Freedom to Fido. The Freedom account has to be active at the time you port the number to Fido.

If the phone # is a # you want to keep
go out and buy a Fido sim card right away and start the porting process ( if your Freedom account still active that is)
you should check with freedom
