How long do you have to complete the whole CPA process?

I couldn't find anything online about this.

Do I have to complete all the modules AND the required experience within a 5 year period?
Or
Can I complete the modules whenever BUT the required experience all needs to be within a 5 year period?

Does anyone know?

You have 5 years to complete PEP and fulfill your PERT. Extensions can be granted on a case by case basis, but it's a lot of hoops to jump through.

That's not true. I called about this exact issue last year and was provided their handbook where it outlines 7 years to get the job experience and 6 years to complete the CFE. Here is a link since I can't find the handbook.

How long does the CPA PEP take to complete?

The nationally developed, regionally delivered program is designed to be delivered on a part-time basis over two years while you gain relevant practical experience. You will have a maximum of six years from the date of registration to complete the CPA PEP.

Do I need a job to enroll in CPA PEP?

No, you do not need to be employed to enroll in the CPA PEP. In order to earn the Canadian CPA designation, however, you do need to both complete the academic program and earn 30 months of relevant practical experience. You are permitted to take longer than the time enrolled in the academic modules to earn the full 30 months of relevant practical experience. Once enrolled in the CPA PEP, you have a time limit of six years to complete all of the academic requirements and seven years to complete the practical experience requirements.
It's possible they updated the timeframe to 5 years since I called last year.

That link is only helpful if you are in the Caribbean and trying to obtain a Canadian CPA...

As I said, that is what I read on the handbook but since I can't find the handbook, I tried to find a page that said the same things. Here's a link that doesn't say "Caribbean" in case of any doubts.

Does the CPA PEP have to be completed within a certain timeline?

The CPA PEP, including the CFE, must be finished within six years of your initial start date of the graduate component of the CPA-Accredited Program. This date is referred to as your “PEP commencement” date. For students registered in CPA PEP, the maximum duration for completing the CPA certification program (education, examinations and experience) is seven years.
So the CPA PEP itself, you need to do it in 6 years. To finish the program, you can do it in 7 years. This is from the Ontario site so I don't know if other provinces have different rules.
