How many tickets (moving violations) have you gotten so far in your driving life?

Curious what's the avg. This only involves moving violations (e.g. speeding, improper maneuvers, etc), so exclude parking tickets, etc. Also wish to have more accurate/meaningful results, so calculate # of tickets / years driving, e.g. 10 tickets over 5 years driving means you have an average of 2 tickets per year. Let's round up to 2 decimal place. To start, I'm 0.19 tickets/year.

Poll added for anon/honest/better replies if desired (select most accurate choice).

1 speeding ticket last January, in 24 years of driving. That's all I've ever gotten.

The last ticket I got was 15 years ago. Speeding.

I should have more. LOL. *knock-on-wood*

I've been pulled over multiple times for "speeding" but never got ticket. The most memorable was 10+ years...

It was unbelievable what Peel Officer ask me, "did you not see me?" Long story short after being pulled over on the side of the road for like 45 minutes, calling 3-4 other officers. I was told to, drive carefully and enjoy the rest of my night.

OP your scale is incomplete. I’m at 0.07 and there is no appropriate option.

First and only speeding was right before lockdown happened in March. Requested for court appearance but idk if it's voided or still pending with the situation now....

I know, couldn't be bothered to be precise, just choose the closest one, so 0.05.

Somewhere in AB
I'm averaging about one per year. In AB, they create random radar spots (called automated traffic enforcement), and unless you rely on waze or have a radar detector, you will definitely get nailed unless you are going right AT the limit.

Getting an average of one or two of these tickets per year is quite normal for those living in AB. We call it the Alberta Advantage. LOL.

Heck, even my dad got nailed when he was going 60 on a 50 zone. He thought it was a 60 zone (and it was) but they changed it to 50 due to construction. Get this: the sign was placed at such an angle that it was difficult to see. This is a revenue-generation scheme for the city as they are broke. I see this a lot in Edmonton as well, though not so much in Calgary.

No offence but what an uneventful and useless story. If you're going to tell a story like that might as well tell the long/complete version...so he pulled you over and you just sat their silent and then he decides to let you off.

ZERO in my seven years of driving so far. And hopefully not many (if any) would be nice over the life of my driving career. 23 y/o now, so I got my license right at 16 (I think it was 6 days after my birthday)

1 ticket in 35 years. That one was a bit sketchy as it was tribal police on edge of a reserve where their was adept of transportation official 80 kph sign and a hand painted reserve 50 sign. But it was a ticket none the less.

I think I’ve had 3-4 warnings over those 35 years.

This is rather eye-opening for me as I thought my ratio was decent but 32 ppl have better records (at least having less # of tickets, dunno about the severity) and only 7 worse.

1, 20 years old. Had bought my first car, a mustang GT that year. Cop lowered it to 15 km over, and tickets were way less back then. Was late at night and there were no other cars

Most of tickets were from late teen era. 1 ticket from 20s and zero after. Knock on wood. However, hp and speed increased as I got older but duration shorten alot.

2 in 25+ years of driving.

One for a rolling on a red for a right turn @ 2am when I was 19.

Other was like 15 years ago in a speed trap coming off Bayview/Bloor DVP exit ramp in Toronto where the speed limit drops from 90 to 50. Face With Rolling Eyes. 8am on a Sunday in the middle of July.

I've gotten a few speeding tickets in my day, as a teenager and early 20s. All of those were contested and reduced/off my record now. No points on my license right now and the last speeding ticket I got was 10 years ago. Funny enough that one I was caught by a plane and beat that one.
