how much to replace exhaust?

on a 1995 Civic? I'm looking to buy a car but the exhaust needs replacing. I would like to know how much it would cost before actually deciding to buy the car.
Any help is appreciated!!

Is it the entire exhaust system or just a part of it? COuld you tell us the basic mileage, condition, price, etc. of the vehicle?

The entire exhaust system for the Honda Civic can fall between $150-$400 depending on which brand you get then you add on labor unless you're going to do it yourself. How much is the car you're buying?

i'm getting the car for $1500 bucks, so im hoping the repair is not too expensive, otherwise it may defeat the purpose of it being cheap

I think its a fair price. You could get better deals. I think the entire exhaust setup will come up to $300 including installation. I'm not too sure about Civics but I looked up the exhaust and its in that range. I remember I tried to look up a system for a Volvo and it was 1k so you're lucky.

16 year old car may end up needing a lot more than just an exhaust repair.

200k is low, but it does not mean $#!* if it was not maintained correctly.

Get it checked by a mechanic(which u trust) b4 buying it.

Don't invest in it if u don't got >$1k cash saved up to do any unexpected repairs in the near future

That being said it could be a great car, but only time will tell.

hotdealsrock,

you can get a cheap exhaust, but it'll last 3-5 years tops.
my dad had an old teg, it cost 80-120 to replace.
easier to oe as it fits.
if you go oem like magnaflow, you may have to cut and weld or tie down.

if cost is an issue and don't plan on using the vehicle for too long, get the cheap aftermarket oe fit.

or you can get a used system for cheap, there is plenty of kids out there that upgrade their civics with fart cans so you can find a good deal somewhere.

Cheap cars are cheap for a good reason. Make sure there's nothing else that might go wrong soon besides the muffler.

What good will that do, what r u going to say:
"Hey buddy u sold me ur car and now something broke, fix it or give me my $ back"

Its not his problem after its sold.

U'd be the A$$hole if u pulled that $#!*.

Spending $1,500 on a car does not give u any guarantee or warranty.
If its goes it goes, if not u choose to spend $ fixing it OR dump it.

Seriously? How can anyone know for SURE that nothing else will go wrong on a 1500$ car? Everything will go wrong soon enough.
