How much should a brake job cost for a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan

Hello,

I am in need of new brakes for my 2011 Grand Caravan and was wondering if anybody has done this and could provide me an estimate on how much a brake job would cost.

I am looking at all 4 rotors + accompanying brake pads.

I have had quotes from $400 (indy shops) up to $1200 (dealer)

Where have you gotten them done and how much did it run you? are you happy with the quality if it wasnt the dealer?

Appreciate the feedback!

I would aim something in the middle. Did mine for 300 for a pair of rotors/pad for the rear breaks.

So I would say 600-700 seems fair

Make sure to clarify what brand brakes indy shops are using. $400 seems cheap, but it isn't worth it if they're using cheap no-name brakes from China.

Was quoted for $569 + taxes for just my front brakes and rotors at my Lexus dealership.

$1000-1200 is about right for dealership pricing. And yes, $400 is suspiciously low.

Really, unable to tell because of the things that could be bad and you cannot tell till you start to disassemble the brakes. Pads and rotors are one thing but if the calipers are in bad shape, leaking or stuck, that is another, fluids may need to be flushed etc etc. A brake job on a 7 year old vehicle can be expensive but needs to be done properly.
It will always cost you more at a dealer as they have to use OEM parts and have to bring the brakes up to OEM specs and labour is more. An independent shop can be a lot less as they can buy cheap parts, labour is generally cheaper and fix the brakes so that they work.

That's actually quite reasonable for oem pads and rotors

Hi, 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan owner here.

If your Van fit 17" Wheels do yourself a favor and upgrade to HD brakes and rotors. This Dodge Grand Caravan have a real and documented brake issue because of the weight of the Van and this was fix until 2013. So if you dont want to be changing brakes and rotors in a terrible and little time upgrade your brakes and rotors to HD.

I did this and problem solve.

I believe the pictures are not there anymore but at least the list of the components you need.

If you are in gta, Ivan from I Garage did a fantastic job in my Van and excellent prices too. Again this is just if your van fits 17" wheels.

2010 caravan owner, can confirm done the full brakes 5 time in 6 years. Whoever designed the brakes to save dodge a bit of money really screwed us over.

Agreed that the brakes on Dodge minivans are completely inadequate. But my goodness man, how are you driving to warrant new brakes every 14 months? That excessive even by Chrysler standards.

When we had our 08 Grand Caravan, we replaced the brakes once after 40k km with Akebono pads and they still had some meat on them when we got rid of the van at 120k.

Did full brake job on our 2012 at the dealership this spring. Cost just under $1000. The Mopar brakes come with a lifetime warranty. So I'm simply paying for labour from here on.

If your Van can fit 17" wheels you should go with HD brakes. Again, this problem was solved until 2013.

So you really are this naive that think you not going to pay for brakes from here on? XD

Thanks for this post.. I was just quoted $345 for front pads and rotors for my 2011 Caravan. The rear pads were under warranty, but the rotors and labor = $239.
This is my second time replacing the rears in under 2 years. This is at an indy mechanic, so seems reasonable, I guess...

was following up on this thread. Dodge Grand Caravan 2010 - Front and Rear Brake replacement - 600$ in total for rotors+ brakes+labor. Looks like a good price. The brakes and rotors are regular ones and not the premium ones. My mechanic said that it would depend on how frequently you hit the brake hard. For me, its over 2 years now owning the used vehicle and doing this job for the first time.

ps: does premium brakes are double the cost than the regular ones?
