How much would it cost to have this tree trimmed?

I thought I was being nice by letting it grow in my backyard, but now I have no sun by 4pm. Here are some pics and video to give you an overview. The one pic shows a red line indicating where I would like it trimmed down to. https://photos.app.goo.gl/enCo6U4R87cD2X1G6
It's a Boxelder Maple, Acer negundo

Trimming down at the bottom there is going to fix the sun problem? Hard to tell by the photos

Just get a ladder and a saw? Or one of these? https://www.homedepot.ca/product/fiskar ... 1000174334 they have these with a saw blade as well for thicker branches

Personally, I’d wait until the fall now and let the tree finish it’s growth cycle. Trim when it’s shutting down for winter or first thing in the spring

Bad plan ...

Too severe

You’ll eff up the tree / stunt it / kill it for sure

If someone had wanted it to be that tall ... then they should have pruned it back when it was that size ... not like 10 years later

But hey, don’t take my word for it

Get an arborist to come out and give you a consult

PS ... remember trees / landscaping are an investment
One mature tree in actuality can be worth 1000s of dollars

OP, it is going to cost about $1K, the cutting part maybe the easier part, it is also about taking away all the branches.

Yep, and removing the crushed pool won't be cheap either.
