How reliable are Gates auto parts?

I've been using their belts and hoses for decades and consider them to be top quality stuff - as good as OEM.

Gates made Honda Timing belts. In my opinion I would say they are good quality

I don't know about the automobile parts but we have been using Gates drive belts and Timing belts on high speed industrial machines made in Germany and Switzerland since 1980s. Those are OEM parts and I am sure German/Swiss machine manufacturers did their DD.

Agreed. Gates makes very good belts.

FWIW, I just ordered a Gates thermostat as I couldn't find an OEM unit and I trusted the Gates name more than enough to snap it up. With any luck, it's going on the car tonight.

Use Gates belts/hoses on my Duramax. Replaced all the rusted fuel lines with Gates Barricade. So far so good.

My last timing belt kit for my Subaru from gates was crap. They went from quality Japanese made parts to cheap Chinese crap for the same kit price.

Gates is usually OK, but there have been numerous documented issues with Gates timing belt kits for Honda/Acura V6 engines. If it’s for this application, go with Aisin instead.

Gates manufactures good Windows. He can Excel, take my Word for it.
