How to use data in Greece?

I will travel to Greece for 10 days in May. What is the best way to get a data plan for Greece? I do not need voice or text.

I would like to deal Vodafone or Cosmote directly. I prefer not to use third party companies that sell "international" travel plans.

Never been to Greece but you can try searching for "Greece sim cards" on Amazon and find ones that have good reviews.

I vote for the orange holiday sim….

Copy & paste from my original post in 2018…

You can either pick it up from Amazon.ca or the airport…

Another option for consideration is the Orange Holiday prepaid sim - it isn't the cheapest but coverage is good, plenty of data and perfect for 2 week trips. Orange is selling it for 40 Euros and amazon.ca has it for $60CDN

You can pick this up on Amazon or when you land in Europe that has Orange as a provider (can pick up at airport too).

I've personally used it in Paris and Bruges and it was awesome. Data is fast enough, strong signal and plenty of data (I never turned it off).....good enough for 14 days worth of travel and you can top up if need more...

And if you register your sim card online - it'll stay valid for 6 months....in case you travel again (will require another top up though)

- 20GB of Internet in Europe on 4G networks - Data tethering and use in hotspots allowed
- 2 hours and 1000 texts from Europe to worldwide
- Credit valid 14 days after 1st use ( first call, first text, first internet connection). Top-up online on topup.orange.com with international credit cards
- Triple cut SIM card (standard/micro/nano). No activation, easy to use
- Covers 30 countries in Europe: Andorra, Azores, Aland islands, Germany, Austria, Balearic islands, Belgium, Canary islands , Cyprus, Corfu, Crete, the Cyclades, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France mainland, Gibraltar, Greece, Guernsey, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madeira, Malta, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Rhodes, Romania, United Kingdom, Sardinia, Sicily, Slovakia, Switzerland, Sweden

Buy a local prepaid card either in the store in Greece or an eSim online.
Most prepaid plans have at least 10GB 4G data for 5 Euro, it is really cheap. There are no roaming fees across EU member countries, once a prepaid card was activated in Greece, it will work all over the EU.
Alternatively, you can do the same thing with any other prepaid card from any other EU country. Buy it, activate it and it will work in Greece too.
Vodafone sells eSim prepaid cards in some EU countries, check if it does in Greece. If not, buy one from another country where Vodafone is present.

We went twice and used Wizifi each time. First time we had the sim card delivered to our first hotel. Second time we picked it up at their location at the Athens airport. Very simple and never had an issue.
