Omen by HP- Ryzen 1700, GTX 1070, 16GB, 1TB/256GB SSD - $1550 - 12% Ebates

The HP Omen desktop is on sale right now at the HP store:

http://store.hp.com/CanadaStore/Merch/P ... BA&sel=DTP

Use coupon BOXING50 to bring it down to $1550.

Ebates 12% should give you back ~$122

Makes it a hotter deal than the upcoming Bestbuy deal for the same desktop. With BB you get an SSD + 2 TB + the mixed reality headset for $1799.99. But if you don't care about those you are saving close to $275 ( + $122 from ebates potentially, I just purchased it so not confirmed on the ebates yet, will update the thread once confirmed). Edit: This one does have a 256GB SSD, makes it even better!

Actually, the one you posted from the HP website DOES list a 256 gb SSD.

Not yet, I think it will take a while, busy time of the year. The last few times I have used Ebates, they only send cashback notification when order is confirmed.

I do have the visit in my shopping trip history, and there is no exclusion for HP store cashback, so no reason not to get it.

Ordered one too. Keep checking into my Ebates. It will show up once the order is confirmed. Right now status is "Submitted".

I would order it as it looks close to what I want but I will try and build something like that for cheaper myself.

I got $155.16 ebates cash back after placing order just an hour or so today. Also, there is probably no "confirmed" status for order, "submitted" is the last status you got, same for my previous order with HP too. Actually, iam contacting ebates to see why its only 10%, not 12%

How does this compare to the Walmart Lenovo Clearance Machine and the Lenovo Cube thats been on sale in the past (hopefully somebody knows which deal i'm talking about. Its been sold out for awhile now though)

Heres the current available walmart machine:
https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/lenovo-ult ... 0197192965

Its more expensive, but a 1080 vs a 1070 that you have to consider.

Would appreciate any insight.

You are right on all your points, but if money is a consideration, it's a good enough machine.

It's because on ebates, it says "up to 12%"

It should be 12%. They just told me wait till it shipped to have the correct amount show up

Don't doubt you, but this is what it says when I log into ebates. Maybe they changed it since you ordered?

I think they say "up to" because ink is 2.8%. Anyways, it will be at least 10%, the price is still very good, ~$1620 after tax. I picked parts (https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/) for similar system, and its end up about $1600 before tax.

Is there any reason to go for a gtx 1080 vs the 1070?

Does the breakdown go something like this:

1080ti - 4K gaming
1080 -1440p gaming
1070 - 1080p gaming
