HRV - no control switch in new home

Is HRV supposed to have a control panel where you can adjust low, intermittent off, or high?

My new home HRV doesn't have that control panel? maybe an installation defect?

I can only turn off the HRV by unplugging. thanks.

Do you have a smart thermostat? Maybe they wired it to be controlled by that instead of having its own control switch

No, there's no smart thermostat.

I am still trying to figure out the switch issue. I googled around, and it seems like all HRV should have a switch or control panel to adjust low, intermittent off, or high.

Maybe an installation defect?

Ideal to have a wall control but sometimes they don’t install one.
There’s usually some way to control it on the unit itself.

There might be a light switch on the wall that turns it on/off. Can you follow the wires out if the HRV and see if the run up through the basement ceiling somewhere?

Sometime there is a switch on the HRV itself.
What is your exact model?
