Anyone having trouble applying online?
If I apply as a new client, the application page would not load.
If I apply as an existing customer, HSBC asks me for a security code that would be generated by a device. As a HSBC client, I do not have such a device.

How did you choose to get paid out? unless you chose the egift card option its cash (paypal or direct deposit), so spend it however you want. You have to wait 58+ days anyways, November 28 pay date.

you dont have a cell phone or tablet to download the HSBC app? if you have downloaded the app, and then deleted it from the device, its a pain in the ass to get customer service to reset your device btw.

Called cx service line yesterday and provided with ref number, told I have to visit a local branch with 2 IDs. Must be a branch near my home which is 3640 Victoria park ave, after hung up the phone I drove there in 10 minutes. It was empty in the bank, lol, then asking one floor rep and she was really nice, lead me to another personal banker desk and exam my IDs, then called credit department by internal line, answered within a few seconds and just simply informed the IDs are here on my desk with the red number. That’s it, super easy, no hassle, no selling. Got email confirmation next morning with Approved, will get card and pin within 10 days. First time ever with HSBC.
Will check the $50 GRC credit later.
I had a similar experience. Online, GCR, provided SIN.. asked me to visit branch with 2 pieces of ID. Called 800-number to schedule, and the first appointment available at the downtown calgary branch was ONE MONTH away. insane. the chinatown location had a sooner appointment so I booked that. I went in and they had no record of the appointment, but took me anyway. Guy photocopied my passport + drivers licence, asked a few clarifying question (nothing employment/income related), and then put into system and it auto-approved. Said it will take 2-3 weeks to receive card in mail. All in took about 20-30 minutes in branch. Not ideal but not terrible

Yeah just call the cust service number and they'll reset the security device so you can setup again, or order their keygen device, which I did, since the way they deal with phones is a pain.

I was instantly approved last week. Called HSBC today agent said card was mailed to my address. New HSBC client here, not sure if branch visit will be still required.

Are you new client with instant approval and did they require you to visit a branch?

Hi can you provide a bit more info on paying property tax using the Triangle WE MC (for the .5% reward)? I came across a Google doc with a list of payees that includes Calgary...Is there a daily limit when paying the tax? Hope I can still make it work for the Sept/30 deadline. Thanks.
