I remember playing F.E.A.R. with my friends when we were kids. When I think it was Fettel that jumped out on the roof, my friend fell backwards off the chair lmao

These games are way too scary for me even though I'm an adult. Can never get myself to finish them, yet I still find them fun; oh the irony Face With Stuck-out Tongue And Tightly-closed Eyes

Holy Macaroni!

It's a rollercoaster to reach the download page!

Create a Humble Bumble account > Verify it via e-mail > Create a Steam account > Verify it via e-mail > Redeem the code found in Humble Bumble > You finally reach the page where you see the FEAR games > ... And then good luck finding wherever this download page is...

You'd think user friendliness would be a priority for this large company, but nope!

25 minutes in and I've still not found it!

Wow, a first time Steam user! Next step is to install Steam, then you download the games from within Steam. It will probably feel like a lot, based on your comment, but you only have to do all of this once.

How do these games run on Windows 10?

This is always my concern buying older games. Inevitably, when I go to the Steam comments, people will be talking about crashes or workarounds. I don’t want to deal with any of that.

FEAR 1 was so good, and atmospheric. 2 and 3 were decent, and in 3 I think that one you could control Fettel? A cool change... But the actual creepiness was gone by that point.
Can you spare some cutter, me brother?

I bought these games years ago fully intending to play them since I love horror games, but I've always gotten motion sickness like not even an hour in and just gave up.

I retry every few years and start from scratch, but I'm still like an hour in like a decade + later... :(

Wow I just bought these separately on G2A(think it was about this price), currently playing the second one! So far no issues at running either the first two at 1440p at 144hz. Get the upvote for sheer coincidence!

I remember when they made the multiplayer free. The servers were modded by the time I started to play. The were servers with moon jump gravity maps, or a toy story type maps where you are tiny. Of course I really enjoyed fear. I can't recall which one I played, I think it was fear 2

Oh man I LOVE the first FEAR game, absolute classic. It was up against some heavy hitters like Doom 3, Half Life 2 and Far Cry in that era so I think it didn't get the recognition it deserved. Probably had the best enemy AI around for years. The DLC (Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate) was good but not quite *as* good. FEAR 2 was decent but another step down. Then FEAR 3 was better than average but certainly no classic. I suppose the series only went downhill from the first game, but at least never into crap territory, they just were not able to reach the heights of the first game again. Also was the game to make me upgrade my video card from a Radeon x800 Pro to x1800 XT.

No, you'll need to keep steam installed as it handles launching the game and your "ownership" of it. These aren't DRM free like on GoG.

Check out the rest of the steam library, they have a lot of free games and good sales consistently.

Storage on my laptop is running low. Do you know if it's possible to save the games/Steam app onto a USB key and play it via the USB?

Yes, it will ask you where you want to install every game.

The first game was great, second one is okay with some creepy levels, they never made a third game though so the series is left hanging.

Also remember that the expansion packs for the first game are non-canon since FEAR 2 ignores them. They're decent on their own though.
