I am consider to buy dyson canister vacuums - need suggestion

I saw there are:
Dyson Cinetic BIg Ball Animal
Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Multi Floor
Dyson Big Ball Animal
Dyson Big Ball Multi Floor
Dyson Big Ball Origin

I only see the tools and accessories are different. The machine itself are same?
I know the expensive one comes with more tools and accessories, but I only need it for laminate flooring (I do not have carpet at home). Which one should I choose?

Thanks a lot.

get the Dyson Big Ball Multi Floor

the 3 big balls are the same unit... just different accessories.

the Cinetic is more powerful... but if you're only using it on hardwood floor, you don't really need extra power.

if you spend the extra $50 on the animal, you get a brush for brushing dogs. you also get a small attachment which is great for getting pet hair off furniture. very useful if you wanted to vacuum your couch or something like that. if you're just going to vacuum the floor, you don't need it.

Is Dyson worth it? Why? (Haven't been in the market for a vacuum for a long time but might be soon)

I've been looking but unfortunately my Sears Kenmore Powermate 840 canister vacuum from the 1980s is still working like a GEM.

Motor still working great! Able to find replacement vacuum bags.

Just the hose is getting rips. Going to be re-wrapping them today since there is nothing to do.

I do not have pet at home.

I will consider:
Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Multi Floor
Dyson Big Ball Multi Floor

I saw: "The only vacuum with no filters to wash or replace." in the description for "Dyson Cinetic Big Ball". Does that mean if I buy "Dyson Big Ball", I still need replace the filter after using some time?
The price difference is $200 (almost 30% difference). Is that worth?

We had one as a hand me down, which eventually broke (physical damage, our fault) after 10+ years in our house. We then bought a refurbished one off ebay (they come on sale often) and it's been great. It's bagless and has a ton of power. Ours also has a HEPA filter and another washable lifetime filter.

This is the one we got, I think it came down to $240:

Whether a measure of quality or not - with our kids we fill the canister several time while vacuuming our house. This is my biggest complaint, the old Dyson we had (different model) had a bigger canister. We had borrowed a vacuum cleaner during the time between ours breaking and the refurb coming on sale, and it did not fill up nearly as quick.

I'm not sold at $500. But at ~$240 I sure am.

I have the big ball animal. It has a filter that you have to rinse out every once in a while... maybe every month or two. not really a big deal. filter lasts forever, so you don't have to buy replacement ones. Just make sure it's completely dry before you put it back in.

The Cinetic I think is a bit more powerful... but we have mostly hardwood floors and we never found the big ball to be lacking in power. We're happy with our big ball animal... I don't feel the need to upgrade to the Cinetic or anything like that. No buyers remorse for us going with the big ball animal over the cinetic version.

If I recall when looking, the Cinetic uses no filters due to its design. But, also due to its design (something with the tips) it has less suction than the regular one. The regular one would lose suction if the filter gets too dirty - I keep thinking it's 2-3 months the recommend for our filter but truthfully I haven't washed it since we got it.

yeah you have to replace the filter after it's been washed a few times on the non cinetic.. that's the funny part with dyson, everyone raving about no bags but then you have to wash and replace filters and empty it every other time you vacuum.
if you don't have any carpets, why not go with a miele like the compact c1 black at $299, even after buying lots of bags you are still cheaper and those you only replace every 3+ months

Hi,

I've been using the Big Ball animal for over six years on carpeted & hardwood floors. I don't have any pets but the animal was on sale for the same price as the multi-floor at the time. The amazing thing about my Dyson vacuum is that the cyclonic action is so through in removing the fine dust out of the air that the hepa filter has never gotten dirty. Just get the multi-floor vacuum.

Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Multi Floor is 499.99 now ($200 off). BUT there is not discount for Dyson Big Ball Multi Floor (still $499.99)

Does any remember what's the price on black Friday (or boxing day)?
