Doesn’t make sense. How did the stranger unplug the charger? Once plugged in and the car is locked so is the cable.

I suspect the owner left the note on his own vehicle and unplugged the charger himself.
Then wrote an article about his experience....giving him a chance to write about EV.

I hear that Tesla owners are now buying gas pickups to block the superchargers, and tuning old Diesel pickups to roll coal on themselves for the likes as well.

It can't be that the media covers every Tesla fire as a national news story, combined with an uneducated population that has caused people to believe that Teslas are in danger of catching on fire from "overcharging".

Realistically it could have been a standard J1772 charger plugged into the J1772 to Tesla adapter - the adapter will lock into the car but the J1772 doesn't lock into the adapter.
