I have that iPhone bug again... iPhone 6/6+

I guess I am in the market again to have an iOS product. Last year around May 2014, I snagged an iPhone 5S factory unlocked for a good price. I kept it till October and I sure enjoyed it.

However, I am looking to pick up an iPhone again, and not sure which one I want. Of course it all depends on the classified pricing, etc.

1) iPhone 6 - I am not looking at the 16GB. I believe that 16GB is very limited for me. Therefore I prefer the 64GB. The 128GB is just overkill, and hence that option is ruled out.

2) iPhone 6 Plus - Looking at the 64GB.

Both phones I am looking either at a Bell locked unit or a factory unlocked unit.

What do you guys suggest I go with, and if so what's the value of these iPhones that are out for sale? I was leaning more towards the 6 Plus because of the bigger screen. Don't like a phone that's less than 5" heh

For reference, I found an iPhone 6 Plus 64GB gold, carrier unlocked for $950: new-iphone-6-plus-64gb-gold-unlocked-1718811/

Are prices different based on the color of the iPhone?

Prices are the same for different colours when bought at retail or through the carriers, but if you are buying grey market I suppose some will be more popular. So many people use cases on them these days I don't think it really matters what colour you pick.

I'd probably say to go with the 6+. It's too big for me, but the couple of guys I know that switched to iOS this year because of the bigger display went with the 6+. They look at my 6 as tiny. If you are coming from a big phone, might as well stay there.

Grey market as in any unauthorized seller. So, RFD members, kijiji, the guy in the back alley, etc. After market basically.

I would just wait until fall and get the 6s/6s+ with 2 GB RAM. The 6/6+ most likely represents the last version of the iPhone to include only 1 GB RAM. It has been the 5, 5s, and now 6/6+. That's 3 years' worth of phone releases. And yes, it does make a difference (in some usage). Furthermore, with future iOS upgrades, 1 GB RAM will become more and more limiting.

Why do I think the 6s/6s+ will have 2 GB RAM? Because Apple is already going that direction. The iPad Air 2 has 2 GB RAM, and that came out in 2014.

Mind you, if you only keep your iPhones for a year, it probably won't matter much, depending on your usage pattern with apps (particularly Safari).

Still have the Z3, but I always have an iPhone bug each year. I've used a 3GS, 4, 4S, 5S in the past lol.

ha... I agree wait for the 6S Plus if you are going to buy it unlocked anyway. All the rumours pointed out to 2GB RAM, 12MP camera.

6 Plus shares a very similar internal to 5S but has a much higher screen resolution to work with. Performance wise it takes a small hit: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1880517

i recently switched back to iphone myself, after using LG G3 for a little bit. i opted for the 6+ because the size isn't an issue for me and the battery life is awesome.

I'd go for the 6+ just for the battery life alone, unless you find it awfully awkward to hold and use.
