Benefits from both places give me tons of discounts and perks so I am really scared to move lol

You cannot do other people's tax return without getting a license in addition to being a designated accountant.
Bookkeeping would make sense. All businesses would need bookkeeper.....prepare to go thru the mess of people receipts.

I assume OP meant "taxes" as in seasonal work at an H&R Block, not tax planning. I don't think those "specialists" have any official certifications - all they do is take your numbers and throw it into their software.Fantastical wrote: ↑ You cannot do other people's tax return without getting a license in addition to being a designated accountant.

Great suggestions above! OP, what expenses are you incurring, you work in analytics, don't you get paid enough in your 9-5?Macx2mommy wrote: ↑ This is really where you need to be creative and decide what you want. Did you look up 'side hustles'? Just based on the little your wrote:
- Booking keeping & Taxes - something you can market for if you know what you are doing for small businesses. Could have done that for tax season
- Virtual assistant - if you are organized
- Detailing - buy a cheap kit, go mobile. Put a little money in it.
- Yard work - I am looking for someone to just do yard clean up for a large over grown yard.
- Sports - coaching if you are really good, running small kids clinics, referring depending on the sport referring, consulting - getting kids set up

How does your spouse feel about you not being home most of the day? I'm asking because I'd rather be poor than be married but living single. Especially if there are children involved. I'd definitely rather be the one with 2 jobs than be the one stuck with children at home.

Wow... how do you guys get the energy (mental and physical) to do two jobs? I remember doing FT work + night school... horrible. I pretty much had ZERO personal time. That said... I would say find a side gig that you enjoy and don't mind doing so it doesn't seem like "work". If if you like driving around maybe Uber or Amazon deliveries or something. If you like getting your hands dirty... maybe contract handyman jobs like drywall fixing, painting, deck building, fencing, etc.
