I went in to get the CVT fluid changed and came out with a new CVT.

Big deal or no deal.

Now I'm thinking if I should trade her in. I only have 40k on my 2017 Honda Civic Sport Touring.

Not a big deal to me. It effectively resets the clock to zero. Stay on-top, or even ahead of the recommended maintenance schedule, if possible.
Deal with it.

Nah I'd still keep it, 40km is still very new on the rest of the car (unless you like to hop between cars often).

Maybe go for an oil change and see if you can get a new engine Face With Tears Of Joy

How is the motor doing?

Is this a common issue?

Why did you need a new CVT in the first place?

Don’t you mean civicX?

But Honda is so reliable and good... Need deets as to why you would need a new tranny when you only went in for fluid change.

I was just busy all day, went out.

The technician said there was a leak, he found a crack? I'll get more detail when I pick up my CivicX tomorrow.

Well must have been really bad since people need to fight Honda to get anything major fixed under warranty LOL

Koodos on the dealership for taking the initiative to fix the issue than just charging for the fluid change and identifying the issue AFTER the warranty is done.

What dealership was this? People like this should be rewarded as a majority of posts on here talk about how dealerships negate their obligation and $crew over the customer.

Wow, mega-downvotes. Does this anger the Honda fanboys? Seems like great service to me?

Down votes are probably happening due to the amazing amount of detail on his civicX CVT replacement!!! Great thread, will post again just to bump it.

I think it's just me. LOL Very popular here.

Whatever makes you feel better. Personally it's childish and could give to shits how many down votes I get.

Family Honda. I received my invoice via eMail. All taken care of.

I thanked the technician multiple times.

What information I can give. I was just told there was a crack.

I just received the invoiced from the dealership. I'm picking up my CivicX later this afternoon and will find out more.
