IB for currency exchange?Mechanism?

Want to open an IB account for the sole purpose of currency exchange ,helping a relative or vice versa a relative helping me buy a house in Canada or the UK. (All money are legit)In some video on YouTube, they say id verification is required before wiring money out to an offshore bank account. However, an IB receptionist who answered the phone says everything can be done online and there is no need to come in to verify my I'd.
We are talking about millions here. Anyone familiar with IB knows the ID procedure works.Thanks.
