You have the power to expire your own thread, there is no need to wait for Mods

You too have the power to buy a garbage cpu laptop for 600$! Nothing like duo core laptops to really remind you of the good old days.

I think I've seen newer laptops in pawn shops for like $100.

Not exactly garbage; 2 core, 4 thread, 25w. For its use case (and the ridiculous thinness of the X1 Carbons), that would've been a great deal imo. Certainly doesn't hold a candle to a gaming laptop or a desktop CPU if you're talking about brute force / power for heavy tasks. But then, that's not what a thin, light, business class laptop is for either.

Yes. The newest one in the market is the X1 carbon gen 8th . So this Gen5 X1 carbon laptop is 3 years old.

161 single core 344 multi core R15 scores... These are the same speeds as current gen i3, but without the massively improved igpu performance, probably power efficiency, and other intel baked bonuses. Duo core laptops are simply bad and can't hold up to even light usage. You'll experience constant spikes of 50% cpu usage just doing basic stuff like booting up, or opening a web browser. I have a lenovo thinkpad with a 6200U, which while a bit slower, is nearly unbearable to use.

For reference, the most basic 4500U from amd pulls off 892, or 2.6X the multicore performance. If you bump it up to more demanding benchmarks like R20, single core is doubled, and multi is a full 3x faster. NO you do not need a gaming laptop or desktop to compete with this. You need one of the lowest tier amd mobile processors. Or really any i5 from the last 3 years will double it.
