For those unaware, every single part for this grinder is sold independently and is user replaceable.

Best price I've seen on this grinder pretty much during the entire pandemic.

For those who want timer function check out the virtuoso Plus or Eureka lineup. I got the Eureka and it's solid metal construction from Italy.

You can even get the virtuoso burr to replace the original one!

Unless you’re grinding big batches or have arthritis or similar hand pain I’d suggest the 1zpresso JX grinder. Similar price but better result in cup.

Grinding for small batches is enjoyable for me at least.

From experience though I don’t recommend frequent (occasional is fine) hand grinding for espresso or big (>35g) family batch brews though.

Baratza is a really good company and they have youtube tutorials on how to fix or replace parts as well.

No sure what you mean. You have to put in the beans yourself in this grinder.

Have this grinder. Use it every 1-2 weeks since ~4 years.
It's not great but good. Here are the pros:
+ good grinding consistancy from very fine (espresso) to coarse (french press), which is very important and hard to get on grinders.
+ as mentionned, parts can be replaced. A major plus. I'm a bit fedup having to throw away things that eventually breaks just because repairing is harder than finding the Holy grail (specially with the nasty rabbit).

No wonder this grinder is still highly recommanded.

I mean other than the obvious. How different is the quality of the grinded beans? Is it finer with this machine?
I just want to know if I really want to spend the money for an upgrade.
If I buy something that is not in deep discounted, my father will punish me; everyone will laugh at me. I will be the strange kid who doesn't fit in.

This promo worked for Eureka Mignon Facile Grinder. Maybe works for other products as well.

Depends on the type of coffee you make. It is ok for espresso, but great for pour-over

Got two grinders of this brand. Repleaceable part is amazing. If you can't find the part locally, try eight once coffee, they ship from saskatchewan if I'm not mistaken.

Are you talking about the cheap spice/coffee grinders with a blade? Those don't produce a consistent grind. When you grind with them, you get a little bit of really fine powder, a little bit of big pieces and a whole of stuff in the middle.

With a burr grinder such as the one in the OP, the coffee is ground in between two flat or cone burrs and produces a much more consistent grind. Consistent grind allows for better coffee with most brewing methods.

Thanks for the detailed information. I help to make the decision.
