IHOP has been in Canada since 1969, predominately with locations in the west.

If you stay in a hotel close by, (or attached to) then it's built into your stay. (ie breakfast included)
Every so often mail outs (email) offer a deep discount on your hotel stay, while also including breakfast.
Ihop is one of those restaurants, but there are better breakfasts other places.
Why settle for pancakes when you can watch someone cook scrambled eggs right in front of you for the same money?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

for sure. Somehow us two adults and 1 kid came out with a 90$ bill for breakfast at IHOP. Later that day, we had a much more delicious dinner where we were stuffed, at Scaddabush and paid $80. Something doesn't line up.

I see what you're saying. No more "free" breakfast with a hotel stay @ Fourpoints hotel. Packages now only include a $15 voucher for breakfast. That brings the bill down to a wow wee wow $75.

There was probably an extra fee/tax added to that IHOP bill: https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/niagar ... -1.4001972

I never eat or stay in Niagara Falls for this reason, its expensive before this. We just do day trips and have lunch at Tim Hortons. It is a cash grab.voltagedrop wrote: ↑ There was probably an extra fee/tax added to that IHOP bill: https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/niagar ... -1.4001972
Don't forget the hoards of Asian tourists also!PointsHubby wrote: ↑ Be it the familiar Cdn Chains … or the smattering of ones from the USA that set up shop there as their sole presence in Canada (the tourist traps for US Visitors). Those I find extremely disappointing … not just cost … but they also never seem the same as what you get food or taste wise vs stateside
I don't mind the offerings - LOVE IHOP, Dennys, TGI Fridays etc, but I won't pay the crazy Niagara prices.

When I go, I just stick with the Casino buffet. Best deal ever!kool1 wrote: ↑ I never eat or stay in Niagara Falls for this reason, its expensive before this. We just do day trips and have lunch at Tim Hortons. It is a cash grab.

I can't believe I have never tried Wimpy's. Gonna try the breakfast soon, maybe next wk.playnicee1 wrote: ↑ Yup. Wimpy's does have a good breakfast meal. I wish they could open more locations and fix their problem with the table jukeboxes. (They're working on it)

They do a really nice all-inclusive Thanksgiving dinner each year, too (although I'm not sure if they'd had it the past couple due to covid), the pumpkin soup is amazing. Overall, the food there is surprisingly good. They don't skimp, although maybe it depends on location. I go to the one at Bathurst and Sheppard.
