[IKEA] Billy Bookcase Sale - Up to 20% Off

Even though IKEA is shut their sales are still going. Warning though shipping says it will take 6 weeks in the GTA - not sure about other regions.

Not worth it if you can't pick up in store. They charge anywhere from $15-60 for pick-up, and $60+ for delivery.

thanks OP. would've participated in three Ikea sales in the past few weeks if they didn't charge for shipping no matter how much you're spending.

Ugh just bought these a week ago - I wonder if they'll price match.

Same here, $59 for shipping a $100 table was sad. I will wait for them to allow local pickup.

They do, I've done it via the online chat on another item last week.

Normally yes, but not now. I checked to see if there was a pickup location near me, but there were none. No pickup at the store is allowed.

100x this. Pickup will cost you more than the product. I was looking into those electronic window shades they had on sale - shipping more than ate up the "savings"

Yeah, agree. They only have pickup locations in areas where they didn't have stores. In areas where they do have stores, it's shipping only, no store pickup. Completely backwards.
It's funny, I live in one of the condos right by the North York location, and I'm still being quoted $59 for shipping. Their pickup/shipping business model is the worst I've seen from a large retailer.

Not only is their shipping ridiculous, but their website is terrible too. It says "Add to cart" on many items, but depending on the warehouse you're closest to, it could actually be out of stock. So the only way to find out is if you go through the process just to find out it's out of stock once you enter a postal code, even if you say what your home store is.

I can't believe they have such ridiculous shipping rates with everything going on.

I've been waiting for their Spring billy bookcase sale, and now it's not worth it with their extra fees. I can only hope that by May 6th they will change their mind for pick up fees or something...

Also even if local store shows in stock, then added to cart, but out of stock once you checkout! what a waste of time!

This might be a bit off topic but anyone knows when their Pax wardrobe system might go on sale? I think Ikea tends to toggle between different "events" like kitchen event, bedroom event, etc

Wow, so much hate on Ikea! Thank you OP for pointing this out. The bookcase looks killer, but Ikea killed the deal!

Ah, oh well.
Try calling in and see if you can get IKEA credit back on the difference. I called last week when they had the cookware sale, and got gift cards (being mailed). I did try asking on Twitter, but their chat people there said no but was perfectly fine over the phone.

Still waiting for the ones I ordered on March 26th.
Haven't even shipped yet.
At least it looks like they started preparing the order today.
Keep that in mind if you are ordering. It might be a while.
