Looks cool but the bookshelf image makes it look like it's not bright enough to be very useful. Anyone use this?

We got two of these in white a while ago.
One for the kid's room that's great for reading either directly or indirect light for bedtime stories.
The other one is on our desk and used for indirect light for webcam meetings.
This red one looks awesome and a decent price.
