[IKEA] Storage Event Jan 9-27 up to 15% Off Wardrobe & Select Storage Items

IKEA's storage event starts on Thursday, January 9th. It mentions Kallax and Havsta shelves in the fine print so there may be an opportunity for price adjustments if you purchased these products in the last 30 days for non-members or 90 days for IKEA family card members. I bought 2 different Kallax shelves in the past month that I hope I can get an adjustment for this weekend.

Details below:

The Storage Event is almost here!
From January 9 – 27, you can get up to 15% off* wardrobes and select storage items. Plus, when you design your dream wardrobe using our PAX wardrobe planning service and purchase a PAX wardrobe of $500 or more, you’ll get an IKEA gift card for the value of the service.**

*Valid January 09, 2020 to January 27, 2020. Valid in-store, online and at Pick-up and Order Points. Valid on all IKEA wardrobes, HAVSTA and KALLAX storage solutions only. While supplies last. No rain checks. Selection may vary by store. Offer not valid on previous purchases or items sold from As-Is department. Valid at IKEA Canada locations only. See IKEA.ca or your nearest IKEA Canada location for details.

**While supplies and appointments last. No rain checks. Selection may vary by store (planning services are only available through stores). Offer applicable on IKEA PAX purchases of $500 or more (before taxes). Offer not valid on previous purchases or planning services. IKEA gift card is equal to the value of the pre-tax amount paid for the service. IKEA gift cards are valid on future purchases at IKEA Canada only and cannot be returned for cash. In the event of a return, the unused gift card must be returned or the gift cards will be deducted from the refund. Vouchers are not for resale, non-refundable and non-transferable. No cash value. Voucher can only be used once and must be surrendered at the checkout for offer to apply. Duplicates will not be accepted. Voucher will not be replaced if lost, stolen or used without permission.

Anyone have any experience with the Havsta series? I was hoping Billy would go on sale.

The fine print says not valid on previous purchases but I've read in past threads of people getting price matched. I ordered pax on the 15% off Christmas day sale so i don't think it would work but I may give it a shot since I have to go to the store anyways.

I don't have a flyer but this was emailed to me.

I was confused about the wording too about previous purchases but I read last year's post and it seemed like people here got price adjustments. I bought my shelves at 2 different locations so I hope it isn't an issue to go toto one place for both and I hope the wording in their fine print doesn't disqualify price adjustments.

Ikea has a 365 day return policy so I don't see why they wouldn't just do a price adjustment. Worse case buy the same items again at sale price and return using old receipt.

I’m thinking yes because its a “wardrobe”. But the promo wording is so vague its hard to be 100% sure.

"Up to" 15% off whatever that's actually going to mean in terms of discount.

Plus a refund of whatever it costs to use their wardrobe planner which I thought was free.

Seriously. How stupid was this guy that approved this?

Well I already got 15% off for their Christmas day sale. Everything was 15% off if you got it shipped. Just me being greedy and trying to double dip!

Pax Wardrobe planner software on the website is free. PAX wardrobe planning service which is an in-store consulting service with an IKEA PAX specialist costs $39 per hour.

The software is annoying. Can never line up anything to line up right up against a wall.

I don't have experience with the Havsta, but after feeling both the Havsta and Billy in person the Havsta is much more sturdy...if the price difference didn't give it away. That's because the Havsta is made of solid pine, whereas the Billy is all particleboard.

But if the Billy is what you're looking for, they might have a sale on Billy bookcases next month based on this email I got last year in late February:
