im new to this contract thing

Do i need to keep $80 plan for 2 years long? or can i change to different plan halfway.

If i have to keep $80 plan for 2 years.....that's a lot of mobility cost!!!!

If you are taking a phone subsidy then you need to pay out the subsidy if you want to change it to a lower priced plan

Of course, it's a rip off. You end up paying the subsidy 5 times over the duration of your contract. It is total nonsense.

That only applies if you're on a grandfathered plan

Anyone signing up for a new plan will be paying $80 or more regardless

This only applies if you never visit RFD. MB/SK plans, Koodo/Fido BYOD promos, TBayTel prepaid, Fido tablet promo, continuous roaming on a foreign SIM, etc. in 2016 the options are there and there is no good reason to dish out $1K/year on cell service.
