Is imported grassfed beef cheap and available in the GTA?

I read beef from Argentina is grassfed. I’m having a hard time locating it in the GTA. I would be OK with local too but it’s usually hard to get and expensive given our short summers as well.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

It's not going to be much cheaper.
Stick with the local stuff or if you really want to get fancy, the best beef comes from Alberta.

I had a post on here back in Mid May 2021 that Metro has New Zealand Grass Fed Beef. Go check there.

imported and grass fed beef certainly won't be cheap if it's even available.

That sale at Metro was pretty reasonable IMO. $15/lb for Rib/Strip Steak.

Beretta Farms has grass fed (doesn't look like there is any on their website now), and their organic beef is "Raised on grass, finished on Organic grain". But not cheap, like you said. If you feel like taking a short trip, you could visit their "head office" farm location in King City(4400 15th Sideroad). I went a year before the pandemic, and they had a mini market set up in the barn with some meats in mini freezers, and along with some breads/jams/etc. They have a contact page, wouldn't hurt to ask: https://berettafarms.com/pages/contact-us

At least it's a start to better farming practices. California had the grass fed and finished label around a decade ago... When will Canada decide to move into the 21 century I don't know... Probably never as it seems to be doing so far... Europe NZ and Oz all did it decades ago and the 3rd world never abused its food supply including animal abuse except when 1st world industrial companies open abuse farms because they pay big money to the their govts and business councils... So ashamed at how Canada and other 1st world countries won't allow certain bad things in their own countries but will allow it thru their companies in 3rd world countries.. Shouldn't their be laws in Canada to prevent such practices? Fine those companies especially since we are getting the meat from these abused farms which in turn is causing health problems for us?? Make them pay for our health issues and bills? If Canada can legal Marijuana and use the taxes to pay for rehab and treatment costs for potheads, I'm sure Canada can fine and tax these bad practices among companies choosing to continue abusing animals and circumvent the law thru Labeling tricks?

I agree with your post but your use of first/third is both incorrect and outdated...those terms really shouldn't be used.

It really irks me when people go out of their way to buy imported goods when it's already produced in Canada because it may be cheaper but don't even look at the environmental cost associated with importing.

Thanks! That’s actually very interesting. Many countries in the middle east import from this area and their food is dirt cheap. Germany gets most of their beef from Argentina as well. I guess it’s definitely a money grab here.

Local is not always good as our climate is worst tbh. We need farm products from the 3rd world or warm countries because it's just way better. However we don't need trash unhealthy abused farm products that our own companies support n bring back to bite us medically. My labeling is real and not candy coated but wtv. U get it right. No offence to anyone.

You have no idea what you're talking about. I agree with you first about Canada's labelling practices and outsourcing bad practices to other countries (the Marijuana analogy was ridiculous) but please do some research instead of posting misinformation and contradicting yourself. Also there are plenty of local farms people can buy from, not all animal products are from big bad companies.

As for not wanting to offend anyone, the fact you keep using third world when I let you know it's inappropriate suggests and call unhealthy animals 'trash' otherwise.
