Impossible to reach TD over the phone

Today needed to talk to TD , waited one and half hours on hold and then they said "we have technical difficulties" and just disconnected!
It's ridiculous! If all branches are closed, when they cannot allocate more people to answer the phone!

Did you try several times, or just once? This is expected right now. You know, there being a pandemic and all.

Login through the app and call. It automatically verifies you and seems to speed things up. I just got access to TD rep within 2 minutes, got put on hold and reached another one within 3 minutes.

first of all, not all branches are closed.
Second, for all the branches that were closed, half were sent to branches still open to account for extra people coming to those branches, the other half have been trained and moved to phones. You need to call during the weekday if you want to get through, or call from the app

its hard to get through because 95% of the people are calling to pay their bills, transfer money, things they could do from the app if they bothered to learn or ask for help.

what do you need help with if you dont mind me asking

The REAL reason why you cannot reach them is because they know that most people need to access their RRSP or other investments in order to pay their bills during this pandemic.

If they answer the phones, this is money that they will be forced to give to you, which empties their deep fat pockets. So it would be a lose lose situation for them to pick up the phones. I myself am in the process of transferring everything to another bank.

It's funny that they do not have time to pick up the phones but yet STILL find the time to call and HARASS me everyday in order to FORCE me to lock my pension plan for 20 years. LMFAO.

Good luck getting through I had to call them probably 50 times and the other half tried probably as many before I got through. Waiting on hold for hours and getting disconnected every time.
When I did get through it was from calling through the app because it gives them your information ahead of time.

Also it doesn't seem to matter which number you call they all end up in the same queue, I was trying to get to a mortgage person and every time I called a supposed mortgage number I had to wait on hold for an hour to be transferred to the mortgage people only for it to disconnect after another half hour on hold. It followed that patter every time too which was weird (one hour hold, get transferred, half hour wait, disconnect).

This happens to me every time I call TD Direct Investing for at least the last month. I never know how long it will be before I actually get through. Some people say calling through the app is faster but I still find it to be similar to the traditional way.

TD's phone service during these times is just plain ridiculous.
I tried calling them for the past 3-4 weeks and waited between 4-6 hours before getting a line.
Then randomly got disconnected with them after a few minutes.

There phone system is terrible. I mean why isnt there just an option to have a call back once its our turn.

I also use the app and it puts you to the front of the line. Takes around 2-3 min.

They are a joke and as told to me and several family members/friends... "We know you have other options then TD bank so please transfer if you so wish".

Most of us did!!

Perhaps look for a branch that is open near you and get the scam resolved.

This entire thing just oozes mis-information. I truly hope you don't believe this to be true. And the point about the pension plan? I can't even.

Only good thing is at least you don't get called every day by your bank to sell you some product

We transferred all our accounts (include discount brokerage) from TD to CIBC many years ago. IMHO, CIBC has much better customer service... The issue with my mom's legacy account, it's just too complicated to move it out especially now... she has several authorized payments , getting some csh from CRA and Israeli pension.... so, too much hassle

btw, after 2 hours of waiting , I reached the rep.... explained him the situation, he asked me several questions and then.....just disconnected! I hoped he gonna call me back...... no freaking way!
