Inconsistent Signature Rule Enforcement

Signature Policy:
Signatures have a 4 line limit
Default font style, size, and colour only
No images are allowed within the signature area (includes emojis)
External links in signatures are not allowed except from select feedback (e.g: eBay) and photo sharing (e.g: Flickr) websites
All standard forum rules apply to signature content
3 reports closed later it still isn't sorted.

Staff feel free to DM me for multiple examples.

-Signed someone salty that my classy use of color wasn't allowed in my signature even though I understand it's a business and blanket policies work best when there is potential for abuse.

Reason: unnecessary. this isn't the forum to pick on individuals

Thanks for letting me know. I've edited the signature to comply with our site rules.

I can't say for sure what happened, but I think this might've been a case where the forums built-in smilies system and how our reports/user profile management pages display signatures worked against each other. I'm going to look into this and hopefully we'll be able to find a way to have smilies just not work within user signatures.

Wait, you can report a user not following the signature rules? How.

Seems like there is a moderator again who is deleting posts & entire sections of threads without informing members.

Yes, I have had posts deleted with no explanation at all, are you suppose to get notice when something is deleted?

Normally you get an automated message that says what was deleted or modified and a generic reason (i.e. thread no longer valid, against rules, post your replying to has been removed). If there's a specific reason then the mod will state why your post was deleted or modified. Either way though, there is always a notification.

The system is supposed to auto-generate a notification any time we edit/delete a post or thread. I often get messages from members who are confused about it and I usually have to reassure them it's just an automatic thing. A few times in the past it's broken down due to forum updates and had to be fixed. I assume that's what happened here, do you have a link to the thread or post? Feel free to shoot me a PM.

I do notice that sometimes this happens when I moderate on a mobile device but I generally try not to because it's cumbersome to moderate on a small screen. I can't speak for the other mods but I tend to only mod mobile if its an emergency, a member having a meltdown or someone spamming hot deals.

No, nothing specific. Been on vacation for a week with nothing but browsing RFD to do so I've been posting a lot. Posts that were deleted were probably deserved, nothing serious. I just usually get a notice saying something has been edited or deleted but remember twice this past week something disappearing with no notice.
